My first metal fabrication job. Tig welding with 3/8 steel for the bumper and 1″ steel for the shackle mounts. Still need to cap the ends, add my hitch back and clean up the finish a bit, then its flat back here we come. Torching a clean line through 1″ plate is not fun.

The first night we camped up in the mountains outside of La Grande. We drove as far as we could up a snowmobile trail until the Jeep broke through the snow. It was about 4′ deep packed on the trail and about 5-6′ deep off trail. The trail was so packed in places I could highlight the jeep up without breaking through. So 2 hours to get unstuck, but hey its fun when its 20 degrees and sunny. Then 2 hours to get unstuck after turning it around. As soon as you drive off the trail you sink =)

The second night we moved on to Emmigrant Springs State Park. We were just planning on tent camping there, but the place was completely vacant and had some tiny cabins open (not sure where everyone was, it was at least 40 degrees there). So we rented a tiny little cabin, was pretty cool. The next day Clinton and I drove thru Palouse Falls park to check out the sweet waterfall.
